A eletroretinografia (ERG) é a avaliação gravação da atividade eletrofisiológica na retina em resposta a estimulação da luz e dentre as indicações para a realização deste exame nos animais, podemos citar: 1. Avaliação pré-operatória da função retineana antes da cirurgia de catarata. 2. Diagnóstico das doenças retineanas em que nenhuma anormalidade oftalmoscópica é evidente. 3. Diferencial entre causas retineanas e pós retineanas de cegueira. 4. Diagnóstico precoce de atrofias hereditárias de fotoreceptores. .
